End the Genocide

Nov 7, 2023
3 min read

It took me some time to put this into words, because words alone cannot express how painful it is to see the lives of so many innocent people taken away. Hatred has been the drive for some time now for many to commit crimes against one another, and this needs to stop. The world as we knew it to be is no more. We are now seeing the world for exactly what it is.

If you had asked me 2 months ago if I knew what was going on at the other side of the world, I would express ignorance. However, I have learned so much within this past month alone about how Palestine has come to be what it is today. I will link some articles below to aid you in gaining knowledge on the past and present.

I have been boycotting and posting about Palestine as much as possible. I know that so many people are afraid/ worried to post about the genocide because they feel it will affect their followers, reputation, etc. Honestly, it is disappointing to see other human beings go on as if this is not happening right before us. I have seen so many children, teens and adults either severely injured, dead, or in shock from the bombs being dropped, with USA's signature on them. How you can just scroll past that to click like on what's a cake and what's not is bonkers, but I digress.

From the food supply being cut & withheld, the clean water supply being cut, homes and shelters being destroyed, generations being wiped out, to a baby and father being placed in an oven, we keep saying it cannot get any worse. Then the internet goes out, more alerts are coming in from the press on the grounds letting us know they are still alive, hospitals get bombed, and we are proven wrong every time that the worst cannot happen.

What is happening to the palestinians is inhumane to say the least. Too many people are in positions of power that should not have had the opportunity to get there. I also want to warn that there's even a websites, like canary mission, that document those who are speaking up and supporting Palestine. Per their website "Canary Mission documents people and groups that promote hatred of the USA, Israel and Jews on North American college campuses." This is being documented in an effort to try and silence those who are speaking up.

I urge and encourage people to speak up and use your platform, however small or large, to help stop this genocide. So far, protests are being held almost nationwide, some palestinians have been freed from Gaza, companies that support and fund the genocide are seeing their stocks plummet and money decline, etc. I want all to know that not all hope is lost with what's going on in the world. Even though it is not happening here, we still need to use our voice or platforms to spread awareness to those who may be ignorant to what is going on.

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog post. Please visit the websites below to learn more about the history of Palestine and spread awareness.
